Creative Juices
November 3, 2024
In this “punch in-punch out” mentality world we live in, who on Earth has time to let flow their creative juices? I get it! The demands of daily living are many, and yet creativity and inspiration can fill up our reserves just as much as quality food, a hug, and a good night’s rest.
We are often our own worst enemy in that we judge ourselves for having a thought, let alone manifesting it into something tangible that others will witness! How frightening it is to see our creative juices flow! We quickly feel it’s stupid, a waste of money or time, or we have imposter syndrome about sharing our creative side with the world. Here are a few questions to ask yourself as you take that step toward creativity without judgment or fear.
- Was there a time in my life when I created something for the pure sake of enjoyment?
- Was I alone or with others?
- How did I feel during and after?
- What would I enjoy in my free time at this point in my life?
- What are my 3 biggest fears that are holding me back?
- What judgments must I let go of in order to take the first step?
As a published author, I know what vulnerability feels like! But why would I let perfection stop me and not share my message that has helped so many? As an adult, I no longer let perfection stop me. So many people get hung up on what things look like to others. Not me. A few “failed” marriages (but I’m not suffocating for a fake perfect-looking life in the name of “for worse”), a published book on Amazon (sure I might tweak it now, but that would dishonor the Jeanine and her feelings at that time she wrote it). Belting out a few tunes as I’m in the car or experimenting with a few recipes that I wouldn’t feed to my dog, if I had one! Oh, such is life. I keep my creative juices flowing. I love writing projects and twists on recipes. If I gum up my creative juices, then I feel as if I’m blocking Divine downloads from moving through me. Here is what it seems to come down to.
When you tell someone that you love them, it is simply that. No expectations of hearing it back. No conditions, No I love you if you do this. Love is sufficient unto love. When you create something, whether it’s a song, knitting a sweater, a dance, or a welcome home sign for a loved one, the flow of creating fulfills the desire. It has nothing to do with how it is received by others. So, try to get out of your own way, and stay inspired to create. It helps conquer stress too! The very word inspired comes from “in SPIRIT”… what are you waiting for? Unleash your creative juices!
