Why would you contemplate hitting the Reset Button? Toxins are everywhere in our modern world, and we were never meant to be living under such assault. Yet sadly, here we are. Why aren’t more people talking about what’s making us ill instead of how to mask the symptoms of illness? Why is research showing 1 out of 2 will have cancer by 2030? Why are infertility rates rising? Why are there so many gut and digestive problems, and why are so many people struggling to feel well in their bodies?
Here are a few of the sources of toxins that we are exposed to daily. The air we breathe – Carbon, metals, VOCs (volatile organic compounds…think paint, rugs, and furniture) cleaning products, pesticides, pollution, etc. The water we drink and shower in – Chlorine, fluoride, aluminum, plastic, pharmaceuticals, and rx (do you know how many thousands of pounds are flushed and not taken out at the water treatment plant and wind up in your glass?) VOCs, lead, etc. Your food– pesticides, herbicides, wax, fungicides, chlorine, preservatives, and more. (Pro Tip- Organic coffee is the only way to go at home!) Bath products and cosmetics – metals, triclosan, parabens, propylene glycol, fragrance, VOCs, etc. Kitchen products – aluminum foil, cookware, no stick surfaces, plastic wraps, unhealthy oils, etc.
Preventing illness and staying well is SO much more than diet and exercise. Of course, those are critical foundations, and yet there are so many things we are unknowingly doing to sabotage our health. “He was so healthy, exercised, and ate great, and he got sick” Genetics play a small role, and we all have our susceptibilities, so why not do all we can to reduce the odds of getting sick?
